Child safety standards
Last updated 22 October 2026. This page says what is live today and what comes before public launch.
unsneak is for adults aged 18 and over. Nobody under 18 is allowed to use unsneak, in any city, for any reason. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and for any content, behaviour or contact that sexualises, grooms or endangers a child.
1. Our standards
- Any account involved in CSAE, child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, or attempts to contact or meet a minor is removed permanently, with no appeal for confirmed cases.
- We report confirmed or apparent CSAM and child exploitation to the relevant authorities, as the law requires.
- We preserve relevant evidence securely for law enforcement, and we don't alert the account holder where that could put a child at risk or hinder an investigation.
- These standards apply to profiles, photos, messages, voice notes, Rounds, Tonight answers, Host listings and events.
2. How we keep under-18s out
- Now: date of birth at sign-up. Everyone gives their date of birth before a profile exists. If it is under 18, no profile is created, the sign-in is erased straight away, and that device can't simply try again with a different birthday.
- Now: reports. "Under 18 / child safety" is a report reason on every profile, message and answer, and goes to the top of our review queue. The account is paused while we check.
- Before public launch: a live selfie check with age estimation, before anyone can send an Invitation. This is not switched on yet; we'll update this page the day it is.
- Host events must be 18+.
3. How we detect and act
- Now: text people share with each other (first lines, prompts, messages, Tonight answers) is checked automatically before it is shown, for contact details, links and abusive content, and anything reported is reviewed by a person.
- Now: photos in a courtship are revealed gradually and blurred by default, and every photo and message can be reported.
- Before public launch: automated checks on photo uploads, including matching against known abuse imagery where available. We'll update this page when they are live.
- Every child-safety report goes to the top of our review queue and is reviewed by a person as a priority.
4. How to report a concern
- In the app: tap Report on any profile, message or answer and choose "Under 18 / child safety".
- By email: hello@unsneak.com with "Child safety" in the subject, or safety@unsneak.com. You don't need an account to report.
- If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police first: in Ireland call 999 or 112 (An Garda Síochána); in India call 112.
Other places to report
- Ireland: Hotline.ie, the national service for reporting suspected illegal content online.
- India: the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, or the 1930 helpline.
- International: NCMEC CyberTipline.
5. Our child safety contact
Our designated point of contact for child safety, including for app stores and law enforcement, is our safety lead, at safety@unsneak.com. Their name and role will be listed here before the app opens to the public.
6. Compliance
We comply with applicable child-safety laws in every country where unsneak is available, including EU and Irish law and Indian law (including the POCSO Act and the IT Rules), and with app store child-safety requirements. We review these standards at least once a year.
